Domestic Animals - Week 4 - 52

I always thought of myself as a dog person. In fact, growing up, I actually remember disliking cats.  Then we got this guy.  He's the best.  We adopted him from a spay and neuter program that picks up feral cats in Brooklyn and Queens.  Turned out his mother was pregnant so they let her have the litter and then put the kittens up for adoption.

Love the way he totally tucks his legs underneath himself.

when I was young my family was adopted by a utterly wild cat from the farm at the end of the garden. He gradually became tame and then would come into the house every evening and sit on my lap to be stroked before he went out to hunt for mice on the farm night. He then would leave the dead mice as a gift outside out door. He looked just like that. Lovely picture.

I like the top shot with his white socks showing.

All of his siblings looked the same except this guy had white socks. He had me at the white socks!

You've captured "cat-ness" well. I like both photos (almost makes me want a cat), but the clear eyes in the bottom photo does edge it in front of the other.

Hard to believe but this cute tame guy also now goes outside and leaves shrews at our back door! horrible!

I really like the top shot, I could easily fall asleep right next to him.
